Annaquilts

Well............I just made a very large queen that had something like that going on. When I layed the whole quilt on the floor it was hard to get it too lay truely flat. Mainly I had very small triangles as one of the borders. The triangles made the quilt though. The bride and groom did not seem to care and the quilt looks awesome when on the bed and none the wiser. So when you lay it on the bed how does it look? I would just leave it.

A BIG congrats on finnishing your first quilt top and a King sized one at that with ambitions for 4 more. That is quite a feat for making one for the first time. I made a twin quilt the first time around and there were moments I thought I would never finnish and I definitely could not think of ever starting another one. I think you must be well on your way to becoming a quiltaholic. Post a picture we would love to see the top.

I had the same experience with a quilt I finished last Fall. This tip helped a little: pull corner-corner and it might help a little.
A tip I learned at Guild to prevent that; measure each border as you put them on. When adding borders, be sure to start in the middle; not at the end. They all said this is true, but no one had a good reason for it. This helps keep it "true." Constant measuring and trimming if it isn't exact is how to overcome it.
When I had that experience, I actually took the quilt apart and started all over. It was stupid of me, but I felt everything just HAD to be perfect!(big mistake) Enjoy!

The bed is rectangular, so no wonder a rectangular quilt looks good on it!!! If the quilt had been square as in a wallhanging, it would not have looked good on the bed--it would look odd, like you had laid a wallhanging on the bed! People are rectangular and we like to cover with a quilt, soooo, you made it perfect!!! Congrats!

Congrats, would love to see a photo. I would leave well enough alone as well. As the saying goes, we are our own worst critics.

My first quilt top was so crooked it looked like the Eiffel tower. But it looked terrific tucked in. So that is the way I used it. Of course others have taken its place but everyone that saw it, loved it! No one said anything about crooked......

I prefer rectangular quilts to square quilts. No idea why. As for the blocks - so they are not square or perfect, but they are done AND you are learning as you go. I bet that if you don't tattle on yourself, nobody will question you. We are our own worst critics sometimes. I would finish the quilt and give it to the proud recipient sealed with Mother's Love. It's all good.

I don't think I made my self clear. I mean that when I fold it it isn't square. If you put the corners together, then the quilt is lopsided. If you fold it from the center, and let it hang down, then the corners don't meet. they are off by about two inches or so. Thee only way they will know that it's not right is when they fold it up. Hope this is more plain.
