    thank you all for your kind words, but at the moment i've stopped quilting it as my stitches have varied and cant decide what to do. so started another quilt for my other daughter.

    Keep up the great work. As previously mentioned, wear a thimble on your needle finger. Your finger on the back will develop a calous(sp) over time. I use a product called liquid bandage and that helps with the pricking and the discomfort. Just put it on before you start quilting, let it dry and bobs your uncle.
