Thank you ladies. I hope you try it. I have just found a way to get rid of a whole line of fabrics that I won't be buying anymore even though the quilts are wonderful out of them. I just had collected so much of it and need to destash.

I have found a book and a packet of paper patters to go with this book. It's the same diamond but in the pineapple style. Let me see if I can find it on line. Anyway, this will be the next quilt and by the time I back them etc, hopefully the stash will be done.

The book is called Pineapple Stars by Sharon Rexroad and I bought the set about 2 years ago I think. I was extreamly disappointed when the Fairy Ring wasn't in the book. I just flipped through the book and saw the quilt and didn't read the fine print lol...

Anyway, I have some if it figured out and I am a whiz at this kind of piecing so not to worry lol....

Right now you can get the book at amazon for 3.99, OMG I payed the full price at the LSQ, Oh, I think I got a discount.

Now the book does come with patterns. I think there are a couple of several sizes so you don't need the paper packet, as you can make a freezer pattern and use it over and over.

I made the mistake and bought the paper pattern packet, thinking it was the book, then had to buy the book lol.

oops, now I remember, I bought the pp pkg at my LSQ and the book from Amazon.

Where did you learn the freezer paper way of PP? Is there an easy beginner's book?

That is the most comprehensive tut I have seen.

The freezer technique I leaned from Barbara Valk, she works at EQ. She sent me a little Tut. I think it is in some book but I can't remember...let me go find. Here is a good one with lots of pic and available as a pdf.

I haven't been sewing for the past couple days. I am knitting. My studio is a bit cold and I have to clean up again and I am not in the mood lol...tomorrow the ladies, (My friends of many years) are coming over for pot luck.

I have baked bread with lots of grains in them, made potatoe soup and a lemon congeel salad deal and a fruit cake.

Ok, I decided that I don't really like the set up of the Star quilt on the web so I decided to change it. I took out the lay in blocks and put in solid christ. fabric instead. Now I can see the star real well.

I will go ahead and do the sets that go around this. That will be a set of three diamonds all the way around on six sides. I will do those the usual way, like the star and then put the lay in's that I took out, on that set and it will then look like a broken star.

I will then fill the perimeter with the plain print blocks. This will beak up the business of the Christmas prints a bit. I like the box effect too.

I might continue it to a good size as I don't want to add any plain fabric. I want all of it in Prints, and I want the quilt to be square.

And most of all, I want to finish the fabric lol.

Oh Lord, the all the main blocks are done now. I just finished. I just have the blocks laying there and I will rearrange them before I sew them together.

I haven't decided about the plain print diamonds yet. I will have to play with some dark ones too to see the effect before joining.

Some of the blocks had to be tucked behind the board as the board is not big enough lol...but you can see the effect.

This quilt will have six sides so sooner or later I will have to insert triangles to square it off
