Don't you now need a certified birth certifate, SS#, 2 proofs of address? That means if your married you hsve to have a certified marriage copy to prove your name change, and if you don't have any bills in your name then what do you do? Someone illegal in the state can get a license, but we have to go through hoops.

Oh, Jade, I did the same thing! My birthday was December 14, and I just went last Friday to get it renewed... it's time for a new photo! The lady said, "You're a little late, aren't you, dear? It's already expired!" As if I didn't KNOW that. <G> Oh, well, it's done now - no harm done. Now... if I can just remember to get the inspection done on time!

Here they only charged me a late fee of $10 thankfully I took out $75 just in case it was more. The lady had fun at my expense and told me I would have to take the written and driving again. I must have looked like I was going to cry she busted out laughing and said she was just joking and would old charge me $10 so I took the extra and bought me a little gift of fabric from the board!!! I even told her when was the last time have you really taken out your license? I use my credit card more than my license. Oh well this is done thankfully!! 5 years from now I will make sure to be ontime!

I've been renewing through the mail for years but I think it's time I get a new picture taken - at some point someone is going to look at my white hair and wrinkles and say "no way is this you!!"

Yup, I did the same thing...I found out when the officer pulled me over on a Friday night. Not only was my license expired by 2 weeks, so was my vehicle registration....boy, did I feel stupid.

I did my best to stay in the house all weekend...and went to the DMV first thing on Monday morning.
