For the cats I just make small quilts, for the cages that they are in, it also breaks my heart to see them, but aleast I know I'm helping.
Also some of them get to take their quilt home...
My quilting groups save all the bits n pieces, and I do mean ALL and I make comfy and washable cushion size beds for our local Cat sanctuary, I have made 6 this past month alone, I don't believe in waste

Great that you help all the fur babies out there. I do the same thing out of fleece for the cats cages at the animal shelter.

Thanks Wolff33 for the dimensions and the inspiration. You have to be a great person if you are an animal lover. My grandmother told all of her DDs and DGDs "Never trust a man who abuses an animal; if he does, he will abuse you." Great advice and I've passed it on to the next generation.

What a great idea. I have some denim that I was suppose to make some jeans for one of my daughter's friends boys when they were about 2 yrs. old. They have now graduated from HS and I still have the fabric. LOL! Guess I'll make dog beds instead. I also bought 6 fleece throws when Rural King had them on sale for $1.60 ea. Will put 2 back to back with a flannel sheet in between. Should be able to get 4 or 6 bed out of 2. I did the same thing for cats using up old batting scraps and trying out new pantos.

So wonderful of you to help the animals!!! My daughter used to help by sheltering, feeding, vet bills, etc dog & cats on her mini farm until it broke her & RARELY did anyone else even think of helping. It is WONDERFUL of all of you to do this! Thank you!

How sweet... I bet the animals are thankful...I would bring them all home too...My husband is in law enforcement..He carries dog and cat food around with him,and bowls too..He feeds and waters them and calls the shelter...Sometimes he even feeds them at houses ,if they look hungry...With the economy down, some animals don't get enough food at home...
What size do you make the blankets ??? That would be a good project to work on locally...
