My butt, LOL. No really, I have two office chairs. I went to Office Depot and sat in every chair they had, some several times before I found one that was comfortable and fit me well. Since I have hardwood floors, I love the wheels, I just roll from machine to table. Only problem is when my German Shepherd stops by to visit or see what I am doing, he puts his front paws on my lap and often I go for a ride across the room. I think he does it on purpose, likes pushing me around.

Height is so important to me. I have 17 spinal fusions and was left with limited use from a badly broken right arm (elbow to shoulder). My husband has a shop in the garage and for a cutting table (I'm 5'10") he took a Costco table and extended the legs with pvc pipe and a large dowel as filler and put furniture leg caps on the bottom to make the table the height I need. Another folding table he cut the legs off to make it sewing machine height. I use an adjustable office chair without arms to sew with. I also sometimes use a kitchen chair and put foam cushions (like you use at a game) to adjust it high enough. Not expensive. It works.

I use a typist chair, without arms. It's easy to move around (has wheels) and the back and seat height are adjustable; ergonically made to be sat on for long periods of time; purchased at a chain office supply store; and it was cheap, under $60.

Don't laugh....I stand quite often when sewing and always
when using the serger, using the foot pedal...easier for
me as I am short legged....

I just recently got a new machine and "hubby" bought me a really nice desk for it. So.... this past weekend he found a desk chair on sale and now I'm really a happy camper. I have the same type of chair for my oldie but goldie machine but since I use both machines regularly it was bother moving the chair around in tight places. Never have a back problem with these chairs.

I find an adjustable height office chair to be most comfortable, and it is easier to slide back from the machine--if I clean the wheels regularly, threads and bits of fluff will gum up the action.piecefully, the old one

I got a office chair from my FIL over 25 years ago, I love that chair, it is black and both seat and back can be adjusted. It has 4 spokes with rollers. When we moved here and I went to the court house and saw that they had my chairs, only in brown! Told the clerk if they ever got new chairs I would like to have their old ones, they called me and told me they would be at the county auction in Feb. (a year ago) so off I went and yep got all 7 of them and a paper shredder for $15. best buy ever! I do not like the new chairs with the 5 spokes as just one more spoke to get in the way of my foot peddles. Now I have my fav chair for each of my machines!

I have an office type chair that rolls around with my every move. It's adjustable as to height. I like it.

I use a kitchen chair. It is one of those that has the frame with no legs on the back just the platform the chair sits on and it does rock a little. So far it has worked.
