I've brought a lot of the five yards for five dollar bolts. Of the first two I brought for a quilt backing, one had only three yards. Don't take the yardage at face value. I make whoever is in the area measure it for me. That way you can also check for flaws. Look on the end and read the fabric content and washing instructions. If it is something you can live with, go for it. I brought ten yards for ten dollars of the bright print and the blades of my nine blade fan is the third time I have used the material. The winter throw I made for me has washed up just fine. I love it. Just be aware if something sounds to good, think twice.

The precut flannel is very thin. The precut fleece is thin and stretchy. Most of the regular weave cotton is decent. I use a lot of it.Originally Posted by wannaquilt1
Are these fabrics any good? I just got a bunch of 2 yd cuts for $5.95 each for a quilt and didn't know if the quality was horrible or not. Also, I got 5" charm packs with 100 pieces for $10.97! What a great deal! Do u think they will keep the charms and jelly rolls even when they bring back yardage?

A few weeks back I bought 2 jelly rolls at WallyWorld. The quality was not there but used them anyway. However, I will not buy from WW again. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Our Walmart here has not brought back any fabric. The only thing I have seen is a couple of bolts of stuff you would use for a coat lining. It also looks like it has been in storage for a couple of years. Do they really think someone would want this old looking stuff.

don't forget, please ....
fabric is used for other things besides quilting.
therefore, walmarts who carry fabs will include material we won't find useful for our art, but that will be useful to other purposes.
don't bash wallyworld just because not every square inch of fab they sell can go into a quilt. ;-)
