Closest anything to me is at least 25 minuts away and then that is just your basic fast food.So needless to say eating out is a couple times a year treat and then it is usually a steak place like longhorn. We usually go for christmas and anniversary as anything other than fast food is about an hours drive away.

There is this little place in Silver Lake, OR called the Cowboy Dinner Tree. Sits in the middle of nowhere. Used to be an old bunkhouse I have been told, not sure how true that is. It is a destination type resturant. You have to have reservations to be seated. You also place your order when you make resrvation. Your choice of entree's is a 26-30 oz steak or a whole chicken, served /w baked potatoe, hearty soup of the day, fresh baked sweet dinner rolls, salad with either ranch or honey mustard dressing. Choice of coffee, iced tea, lemonade to drink and the desert of the day, usually a shortcake with fruit. Everything but entree', potatoe and desert are served family style. Did I mention No steak sauce or credit cards, cash only? Steak sauce, don't need it and no credit card machine becaue that would require extra electricity and they only use a generator. The place is rustic, the dishes don't match, tables are planks of wood logs cut from large trees and mismatched chairs. Don't be surprised if a server or even the cook comes out has a seat and strikes up a conversation for a few minutes. They provide the doggie bags. Did I mention the food is out of this world and all for around $24 a plate. The experience is worth that.
See what you did now I want to visit Silver Lake sometime this summer.

We have a local small cafe/bakery. The chef/owner has a PhD in Microbiology as well as a degree in Culinary Arts. She teaches at least 24 different types of classes in world cuisine. On Monday my adopted daughter and I attended our 2nd class, where we and 8 other "mini chefs" made 11 different types of Indian Food. It is expensive, intensive and non-stop cutting, dicing, slicing, stirring, pureeing, dough rolling, cheese making and all the fun stuff that goes into these spicy dishes. After 3 hours of hard labor, the 10 of us get to sit down to eat our efforts. Soooo good, and so much fun. The next one we do will be either Mexican, Chinese or Mid-Eastern. Burp!

My favorite is Red Lobster, second is Outback Steakhouse and for a quick bite while travelling we usually stop at Taco Bell or Macdonalds.

Most sushi bars are my favorite places. I don't care too much for franchises/chains.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE eating street food in Thailand, too!!!
