I've been spray basting for years. Last quilt I ran out and I bought the June Taylor brand. It gummed up my needle and stopping to clean was a bear. I am sticking to 505.

Iv never heard of this one, but would like to try it out, I tried several brands and if I spray lightly I don't have a problem ,but I live in a RV (travel) so the area is small the one kk2000 sounds like it would work out good

CHARITY CRAFTER- IS IT ONLY AQUANET THAT YOU CAN USE. I TRIED ANOTHER BRAND OF HAIRSPRAY FOR THE FUN OF IT ON A SMALL THING AND IT NEVER STUCK. I DO READ A LOT ABOUT AQUANET THOUGH.

Honestly, I've only tried Aquanet so I don't know about others. From my experience, you need to spray the heck out of it leaving it wet almost. And make sure you do it in a well ventilated area or outside. The fumes are enough to choke a goat.

If I use basting spray, which I do. I spray it on, sandwich my quilt, let it dry overnight, then the next day I do the quilting. It turns out nice.

I use 505 and never had any problems. But you DO need to use a light hand when spraying.

I just want to add that I had my first mishap with spray. I sprayed too heavy and had a gunky film on a minky/cotton blanket. After some time with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush I got it all off. The alcohol dissolved the gunky mess. A friend in theater said they even use vodka in spray bottles between costume changes. Anywho, just thought I'd share.

Clean needle with alcohol then put a drop of sewers aid between fingers and run it over the needle. It will help.
