Read all the suggestions and only saw Baby Lock recommended once. I love mine! Have moved up from the Ellure model to the Esante. Excellent for sewing & embroidery. Had a Janome for years, but I like the Baby Lock much better. However, it is picky about thread. You must use Guterman or a comparable thread. As others have suggested, buy only from a reputable dealer who will teach you how to use your machine and answer questions when needed. If you do not bond with the dealer on your first visit, find another one. That bond is very important! You must feel comfortable with dealership and your purchase!

I love my Baby Lock Ellure Plus. It's the best machine I've ever owned and I've had several. But it was kind of pricey.

I have had my Babylock over 2 years. I've sewn with the cheapest thread to the "best" threads and never had any problem at all. Maybe yours needs a tune-up? If that doesn't work, I would call Babylock. I don't know how long you have had your machine or whether it is still under warranty. The picky thread situation you have experienced shouldn't exist.
