I don't like the sandwiching bit too much, hoovering up the mess I leave with threads that always always miss the bin, but most of all I detested hand sewing binding so much that I have machine sewn bindings for the past couple of years. The best ever thread on this forum is the one for flange binding - it was like my birthday and Xmas had arrived on the same day - awesome!

    very true.....in everything we do.

I think the posting with unseating...might mean unsewing...autocorrect can be a devil! It kept changing my unsewing to unseeing!

I don't really dislike any part of quilting. Each part is a step to the final product...like following a recipe for a good meal....oh the joy when it's complete! If I did really dislike a part of it, and could not correct/improve it...out to seek another "hobby".

I enjoy everything about quilting but only wish I had more time to do it...

I hate the basting part, only because then it comes to ...

I love finding the pattern for the next block, quilt but I hate when the instructions are difficult to follow or even wrong.
i don't hate sandwiching but do dislike it on large quilts.
it always takes me along time to decide on free motion quilting trying not to have a million ends to sew in.
i hate giving my quilt away because I feel no one will love it as much as me.

I won't say this is the only thing but squaring up of a 1-3 (or more) piece of fabric before getting to the actual cutting.
Picking out colors for a quilt. ( I'm very color challenged ) so kits were invented for people like me.

Making the sandwich. I have a mammoth one to do and can't find a long-armer to do it (for a fee of course). Even LA don't seem to like that chore.

-Ironing backs (and then trying to KEEP them pressed)
-doing borders because I never seem to get it right even when I follow the rules
-finding a pattern I love and reading the directions only to discover I would never be able to figure it out.
