tarib, I didn't think it was difficult. I am sure you can do it, and if you get stuck, just come to the board, somebody here will help :P

I personally got mine from Connecting Threads (http://www.connectingthreads.com/cfp...y.cfm?ID=55420), but I was ordering many other goodies that I got free shipping. Many quilt and fabric stores have them though. Just do a Bow Tucks pattern search and many things will come up for places to sell them. Good luck! I know you can do it!

Just take it one step at a time. I had to read, re-read, and read again for each step. I can be kind of dense when it comes to patterns (I free-style a lot) and I hate messing up when it's in black and white right in front of me.

I just read the first step, did what it said, then did the next step. I made sure I THOUGHT about each thing it asked me to do - such as when I was putting on the loop for the button - it goes on the opposite side that the front pocket is on. Little things aren't spelled out, but if you take the time to read one step at a time, and follow it very closely and think about each thing, you won't mess up.

That being said, I didn't cut my pocket lining and pocket (this is the front pocket) from 2 different fabrics....so when I sewed them together, I didn't have a contrasting pocket and band. Duh. So I had to cut a new lining that also creates the contrasting band on the front. Whew.

It took longer than I thought it would, and I had a problem with sewing on the handles on the wrong side that when I tuned the purse right side out the handles were buried in it (silly me) so I unsewed and redid that, but other than that I thought it was pretty clear what to do. Of course there were steps that I had to read like 10 times to get it, but hopefully it is all a learning experience. My husband walked home from work and shrieked "Wow' when he saw my bow tuck sitting on the table  It feels good!

GREAT job! I just made my first one too - and I don't do too well following a pattern.
    I LOVE your fabrics.
You should be proud if your hubby noticed! :)
So all of you still wondering if you could make a bow tuck, yes you can!
