I've had to tell my husband.....

Very interesting subject. My husband and I finally got the house and laundry done this past Sunday afternoon. My goal is to keep this caught up so that I can have more time to sew and create. So we will see.

I have also hired a housecleaner - comes in every 2 weeks. We both work full time and I got tired of hearing my husband complain, but didn't receive much help. I'm enjoying my weekends a lot more now without having the dirty house hanging over my head.

I'll do the laundry, but if he wants things folded, well, you know.....

Upon the retirement of my husband 4 years ago, a quilting friend, who is also the church cook, gave me a saying to use. "I married you for love, not for lunch. Make your own." And that has worked well for us. He eats breakfast and lunch on his own. I make dinner and he loads the dishwasher. I clean the rest of the kitchen up better, but he gallantly vacuums the house after each grand-dog visit, because I'm allergic to the little darling's dander.
This is a great season - He watches baseball playoffs, college football all day Saturday, pro football on Sunday, and even some British soccer. I can quilt and watch what I want in my own domain. Separate, but together?

My husband of 45 years loves to cook I do the cleaning up, don't mind than after a lovely meal, however he is not too happy sitting on his own when I am in my little room merrily sewing away.He says he's a sewing widower, but then he goes out to watch football frequently, and leaves me alone, so I would say it's about 50-50. He always compliments my work though, and that makes me feel good. Love him to bits!!
This is my first attempt at quilting, not very good I'm afraid !

That's a wonderful arrangement karen, wish mine had a hobby, but then again he is waiting for a new hip, so I can't expect too much of him at the moment. But then I would be lonely without him, no pleasing us gals !!
