If some of them are little and you want smaller quilts for themm I keep a stash of little ones-I would be willing to donate two of them to you.
Just PM me and we will see if we can coordinate something.

I think that for most children, the fabric itself is far more important than the design. Fancy and intricate design is just not important to a little kid.

A fabric that is fascinating is wonderful. They love themed stuff or something that they like like food (say for the teenager) or dolls or pink or whatever, for the little girls.

They would go wild about stuff like that and they'd feel very, very special. They could be simple blocks, but if they were the themes that they love, whether Mickey or Barbie or dolls or pizza, they'd be thrilled, I'm sure.

Fancy patterns, however...don't expect them to be too excited about them. I mean, they will like them because someone made them for them, but they will love them MORE if the theme is what they love as well.

Wish I could help. I love doing the kids' stuff, but I've got a bunch to finish up here...79 in fact, but they will all be tied, not quilted.

How about a 9 patch block or a 4 patch block and alternate it with a plain block the same size?
Or just use big blocks like 8 or 10", they go quick........
    Good Luck.........

    An easy/quilk quilt to make--
Cut strips from your childrens themed fabrics, adding some bright solids. Stitch these strips together into a strip set.
And then cut into strips again. You can make the strips any size you need to make the finished size quilt you need.
Make a bunch of these sets. For the younger children you don't have to separate boys/girls because you used children themed fabrics and bright solids.
Mix them up, sew the rows together and you have a quilt.

Here are some great ones that only use 3 colors per quilt - pictures, but no patterns unless you buy the kit, but they're pretty easy to figure out:
