I have bought several off Ebay. I bid really low and I still wind up being the high bidder. I have paid $4.00 to $30.00 for them and so far I have been satisfied.

I've only bought one kit - a Mckenna Ryan and it sits in the box. Everything else, I enjoy figuring out how much and of what fabric so buying a kit would take something away from the fun.

I have always wondered if when buying quilt kits that the fabric comes precut. I figured they sent you the yardage and you still had to cut it into squares, triangles, etc. If precut is usually the case, I think I would love kits. I dislike the cutting part and I have a difficult time in choosing fabrics that go together.

No, no, no - I'm not really a "pattern person" :>). I'll see a quilt or a pattern I like, but rarely does the finished product look exactly like the picture, somehow I always seem to steer away from the pattern LOL. I'm always happy with it though, so I guess I'm o.k.
The bottom line for me, why invest in a quilt kit that probably won't look like the picture and probably won't contain enough fabric by the time I get through messing around the directions LOL

I like to buy kits. Really need to think through the cutting process as there is generally not extra fabric. When I put together my own combo I always get extra fabric for oops and pillows

I have done several kits and I enjoy them most of the time. I have only had one that was a little short on fabric so I had to pinch hit and it all turned out fine in the end. I do have to say that I have run into several patterns (no fabric included) that were difficult or incorrect at times too so it isn't just a problem with kits. Find a small one and give it a try. I love them when I have an obligatation that I need to put together in hurry. They save me the time of having to find and match fabrics when time is short.

I love kits, they generally work up fast, the colors always look good and I don't have to think so hard. I think I save money on some when figuring out the cost of yardage,. I use ebay alot and have made some really pretty quilts. I'm just not all that creative and don't have a great eye for what goes with what. I like picking out a coordinating back to make it mine, and they almost always look nice to give away (the ones I can part with). Baby blankets seem to me to be pretty economical if you shop around,then you can use the pattern with your own fabric. When I just buy fabric I like, it sits there on the shelf while I hope I can come up with some pretty way to use it. Yes sir, I am sold on kits!

This particular kit is Blossoms and Garlands featuring Poetic Blossoms collection by Lisa Audit, lots of pinks and greens and has: 12 different fabric pieces to cut, 2 panels to cut, mitered corners (which I've never done before). I saw the sample and it had the exact colors I needed for our bedroom. Finished will be 98 x 112. Seems every quilt I make is either Queen or King!
