    Oh, I just love a mystery. According to a web listing the church has only been there since 1977 so chances are good that if it is a person and not a group's name she still attends or someone there knows her, or of her? If it is a group maybe you can email a photo of the quilt to the church and they can post it to find the actual maker?

    This may end up making a great article (or series of articles) for the newspaper. It has so much: a mystery, a puzzle, art, a human interest story. Even if you get your answers from the church, think about involving the newspaper too. Who knows? You may get some more folks interested in quilting. Thanks for sharing with us.

    I think she'd be glad it was purchased by someone who appreciated it. Perhaps she would not want it back and had made it for as a prize for the church fund raiser or donated to someone who was ill. Be cool to find out the details. I agree, little notes on the quilt help to make it more personal. Dates are very important too, IMHO.
