I also use freezer paper for greometric shapes when quilting in plain blocks, easy to quilt around and then peel off and reset on another blocks...faster than marking designs. Have fun with it.

I used it to cut out circles. Fold square into quarters, and iron on the wedge of freezer paper. It sticks, then cut out. Unfold fabric and you should have a circle.

In a similar note, has anyone tried Glad Press n Seal? Have seen some talk about it, but it just looks too easy to be true. For quilting designs, that is, not for appliqué shapes.

I do this as well and I buy big rolls of freezer paper which I cut to the size I want for my photo printer, you can run all kinds of fabric type stuff through your printer this way, for instance angelina fiber.

Wow! Your explanation is so clear! The only thing that I do different is I use Elmer's glue sticks when I fold down the seam allowance. Next I take the freezer paper out & glue the piece down where I want to applique it,then sew!

Interesting. How is it used to applique? Ready to buy some and start playing and creating.
