That's an employee who is worth the effort, in my mind. And sometimes it's good to do a project outside your comfort zone. It's really nice and modern...I'm sure they appreciate modern if the colours of their baby's room is black and hot pink.

Thanks for all the nice comments on this quilt. I hope all of you that want to make it as well. It's super easy! I got it all sandwiched last night but realized I don't have a blue washable marking pen! Looks like I'll just have to make a run to Joann's tonight!

Cute, I love the combination of black and white fabric and the hot pink flowers, I am sure they'll love it.

I like your idea and it reminded me I had a ton of B/W fabric from a swap just waiting!

Nice quilt - and it looks like it went together pretty quickly. Have DH's ears recovered from what you said to him when you got him alone after the encounter with the co-worker? My DH commits me to things too, and I hate it. So far, it hasn't been a quilt. No matter how many times I remind him that he CAN'T do that, he doesn't get the message. Maybe I should start committing him to things he doesn't want to do!

No I didn't scold him. I'm grateful he likes my hobby and encourages me to spend time at it. He never gives me grief over how much I spend on fabric and a couple of years ago when he got some extra funds from work he made sure I got a new to me BabyLock Jewel mid-arm and table. He's a keeper...

That's so cheery! What's nice is that the baby can have it forever, because it's not all babyish, yet sweet enough for her room now. Sounds as though it was well worth the effort, with all the friend did for you. But yeah, we've gotta train the guys to ask us first, in private before making an offer like that.
