UFO has a border but now it's too large for me to quilt on my DM. So will bring it to Project Linus next Friday and give it to our long armer to quilt it. I'm still going to count it as one done since it's out of the UFO container.

Oh and did grab another UFO so it can age on my design wall.

Yea, Julienm1. Good for you. I knew you could find a UFO to bring to a finish this month! Double win for sure! A UFO out of your sewing space, stash is diminished by a bunch of fat quarters used on the back and someone is going to get a hug from you via your donation to Project Linus. Many hands are clapping for you.

I know in time, I'll get better and so will you. I also found out if I went a bit faster instead of slower, I stitched straighter so maybe that's the key. Good job on your first quilt on the frame.
Thanks for the good ideas and support to CardsByLiesl.

It's 10.30 tonight and I just put borders on ANOTHER UFO!!! Too big for me to quilt so Barb will get this one, too. I'm trying to make quilts for older kids and just added 2 for that age group.

Julienm1, I am with you concerning making Project Linus quilts for older children. They need them too and although they are an adolescent, buried deep in them is a child who needs a warm hug and something that belongs to them and them alone. Time for me to deliver my stack of PL quilts. Keep stitching for PL!!

Hi all - enjoying hearing about all the progress being made.

I have moved some things along a bit here too:

(from my original list)
1. Puffins Aloft (2021) - need to prep both the top and backing for longarming, and then actually send out for longarming - found, seamed, and done first pass of ironing on the backing - more LA prep needed (ironing, de-threading, etc.), but progress!
2. Cream & Green sampler (2011 - not a typo) - need to prep top and backing for longarming, and then send out for longarming - fully prepped both backing and top, now waiting to go to the longarmer
3. Harvest Gatherings (2022) - prep top and backing for longarming, then send out for longarming (anyone noticing a pattern here? Lol) - backing seamed, top trimmed & stay-stitched - more LA prep needed, but progress
5. Pumpkins & Cats table runner (2021) - finish hand quilting (this is the nearest to completion, as I only have 1.5 borders to finish quilting and then it is done - but it has been stuck at that point for... a long time) - handquilting fully completed and off the list - hurrah! Will post a photo of the finished UFO once I manage to remind myself how...

No progress on any of the others, but pleased I've managed to move forward a bit since these have all been stagnant for way too long!

Happy Quilting!

Thanks for the update Panchiita. It is so encouraging to know you are making progress on your list. Three cheers!

I have finished piecing my Number 11 and it is in line to be layered. If I can pull myself away from the Olympics, I should have it quilted certainly by the end of the month, but fingers crossed by the end of the week.

Love hearing about your progress and finishes. Keep up the good work at clearing out your our abundance of UFO's.

Digging thru UFOs looking for specific rocket kit I made up. Nope. No where to be found but did find the pattern to print out but did find next UFO to prep to leave my house!

NM is celebrating 100-year celebration of Route 66. I found a scrappy roll of Route 66 fabric I brought home from PL at least 3 years ago. (Has it aged enough to be finished?) Really cool fab showing road signs and pic of buildings along this highway. It's on my design wall right now. Cut fab into 10-inch squares and smaller scraps add fab to make 4 patches.

Some boy and his dad will love this quilt. It WILL be done in time for next month's meeting of PL.

Triple win for me. Used up scraps of batting, UFO done and out, and stash use to make it large enough (50x50)

Okey, Dokey UFO Team, how 'ya doing? The month is almost half over so I thought I would check in to see if y'all are seeing progress? I have my #II top finished and waiting for its back. Fingers are crossed that it will get layered tomorrow afternoon.

Press on my friends don't let the winter doldrums distract you from your goal for this month and this year.

Y'all I need a break! I had to leave my cozy nest at home to go a couple of states away to help out my sister when my BIL had a bit of a heart incident (he's recovering--thank you medical advances!), so I'm behind. January's L&L is done except for the binding, and February's number (Mathemagical) hasn't been touched except for buying a couple of additional FQ I needed for it (teehee!).

While we were visiting my sister, though, between trips to the hospital we did squeeze in a few hobby trips and visited a gorgeous needlepoint/yarn shop for my sisters and a quilting/ fabric store for me, and it was downright inspiring. Did I buy a FQ pack that I didn't really need but was too gorgeous to pass up? Maybe!

Life is complicated but good. I shall get caught up!

Oh goodness, you have every reason to not be finishing UFO's. Family first, always family first. Enjoy the Fat Quarter pack that may or may not be in your possession. Tee-hee--hee. Just don't turn it into a UFO, rather turn it into a beauty that thrills you and is full of memories of your time with your sister.
