Me too!! I learned in a 1962 Chevy pickup. Dad said I couldn't go over 35 mph on a loooooong straight road for miles. That was torture for me. The next lesson I hit the hills. My sister and my best friend were in the back. They started out sitting by the back window and ended up laying with their heads against the tailgate! What fun those days were!

Yes! daddy said if I can drive a stick shift, I could drive anything, and he was right. Of course now a days I drive a 1 ton dually (automatic) and my philosophy is, if the automatic can't handle what ever I pull, I just need a bigger truck  To this day, I can still drive a stick.

I was 16 in 1973. (Gosh time has gone by!) My dad bought me a 69 Mach I Mustang with a 450 engine & 4 on the floor. Really souped up. Actually, I think that he bought the car for him and used me as an excuse to buy it. I finally told him that I was scared to death of the car. So, he sold it and bought me a 68 Camero. It looked like a race car, but had a little V6 engine and was automatic. I loved that car!

A red opel,,, I learned to drive it after I was married, it was a stick shift and the only car available for me to drive to work in! I loved it and drove a stick shift up until three years ago when we went to an automatic!

1964 Ford 3/4 ton pu with a 4 in the floor. It was a gosh awful green. I had a blast with that truck. Drove it to school and someone put sugar in the gas tank. It stopped up the gas line and the sediment bowl.
