I like to listen to books on CD. I would gauge the amount of time I put into my sewing by the number of disc I listen too. I would listen to my favorites over and over again when I am sewing because full attention to what is being read is not necessary. I already heard it before. This way I can concentrate on my sewing without being distracted at what is happening in the storyline.

I love sewing and the quilting process in particular -- designing, cutting, piecing, although the actual quilting does sometime intimidate me. Sometimes I put on music, but most times I like the "sound" of silence.

I always have the tv on but don't really listen to it. Just for a little background noise. Never loud, always turned down

I enjoy quilting, it is so relaxing and rewarding. I don't have a set background noise. Sometimes it is the tv, music or sometimes it is just the family noise (boys playing guitar, boys band practicing in the basement, husbands loud tv etc.

I always have the TV on. I guess I just have to hear voices. My house is very quiet after raising 3 sons and 4 grandsons. Don't get me wrong as I really am enjoying my retirement and not having to cook 3 meals and wash tons of clothes. Now I can quilt, get on the computer and occasionally clean house.

I listen to books on CD. It helps me keep up with what my kids are reading.

I watch t.v. and sometimes I listen to my favorite dvd's. Sometime's I let my grandson read to me, that way I can help him improve his reading. In between, piecing and quilting, I'll glance at this board here and there. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely good therapy and definitely music! I vary what I am listening to. If I am piecing and moving from my machine to the ironing board then to my cutting board I usually have something a bit peppy on. You will find my singing and dancing from one place to another! But if I am machine quilting I need something a little more mellow so I can concentrate a little more. I'm kind of glad my sewing room is in the basement so most people can't see or hear me!!!

I usually have music or the t.v. on. Since I live alone it makes me feel more comfortable.
