I made some of those years ago and made a "pocket" under the inside where the 2 strips of fabric intersect and hubby cut masonite to slide in under the casserole and supported very well. Able to remove it and the dowel rods for washing.

Aren't they fun to make ?I made five last week for gifts. And have several to make when the holidays are over. I boughta king size quit for $18.00 and a dear frined and I split it. It worked great and really took down the cost of them. I have some scraps I'm going to use to make some of the others.
