Mostly I buy "loose" fabric cuts but I have many kits, as well. When I first saw this topic, I thought it said "Do you buy quilts?" which I've also done ONCE.

I bought a 4" patch block quilt top for $40 from a local antique store. It's just the quilt top but I'm going to tie it with the backing of muslin, like they did in the "olden days".

Only once when the fabric was discontinued. Found the kit at an Australian quilt shop. Already had the pattern, but couldn't find the fabric in the desired colorways until I saw the kit. The quilt now resides in America.

I have bought kits that why you don't have to hide and buy the fabric for it when you might just need a small peice! I'm doing a Halloween door quilt that is sooo cute and I have added some of my own farbic to it too!

I'm not a kit buyer usually. I bought a kit years ago on a shop hop, still look at the kit every once in a whole and say some day...
I bought one last week on vacation and did sew it mostly together.
I tend not to like the color choices that are in kits. I like to pick out my own. So if I can buy the pattern, I will and get my own fabric for the project.

Nope, if I can get the pattern without the kit that's great. I like to use my own choices of fabrics. I have some kits and they are languishing in a bin for "some day."

I buy lots of kits and have a huge tub full right now. Hopefully I will get some of them done this winter.

I bought one because it was reduced...patriotic that I guess was left over from 4th of July. It was half price. I'm a red, white and blue fanatic...lol.

It's small...15" X 22" but it includes everything but batting. It will make a cute wall hanging...I have a LOT of patriotic things displayed in our family room.
