Here's one of hopefully 2 quilts I'll finish this month. This one is 76 x 76 what I call an oversized lap quilt. It's the Ombre Diamond pattern. I made the Ombre Star pattern for the bed size quilt finished back in March 2025.
I'm also showing the Ombre Star quilt so you can see how close they are. Also showing the fabric used to make these 2 quilts. Both were put together at the last quilt retreat I went to back in March 2019 so it's about time these got finished. Hope you like them. They'll be heading for the spare bedroom along with pleated shams and a couple throw pillows made from the same fabrics.....ombre and purple/black checked.

Hope we like them? How could we not? What a marvelous way to use the ombre fabric, not once but twice. So what if it has taken since 2019, they are lovely. BTW, the barn raising lay out has been one of my favorites for years and years. Anyone else? Three cheers for you Snooze, and fingers crossed that you will meet your goal for February.

Y'all I need a break! I had to leave my cozy nest at home to go a couple of states away to help out my sister when my BIL had a bit of a heart incident (he's recovering--thank you medical advances!), so I'm behind. January's L&L is done except for the binding, and February's number (Mathemagical) hasn't been touched except for buying a couple of additional FQ I needed for it (teehee!).
While we were visiting my sister, though, between trips to the hospital we did squeeze in a few hobby trips and visited a gorgeous needlepoint/yarn shop for my sisters and a quilting/ fabric store for me, and it was downright inspiring. Did I buy a FQ pack that I didn't really need but was too gorgeous to pass up? Maybe!
Life is complicated but good. I shall get caught up!

Lena1952, Hunter'sDesign Studio made these patterns especially for this style of ombre fabric and I couldn't resist. Love bright colors and the bedroom walls are a medium yellow, added numerous embroidered wild cat head designs to fill the walls.

This week I have been good NOT starting a new project. Grabbed a bag marked SKATEBOARD. Top partially assembled. Couple blocks ready to be attached. Looked at it last night and now I have to add sashing to several blocks to finish it.
Looked at it today and thankful I quilt working on this quilt last night BECAUSE sashing is OLD OLD fabric from Joann's! From SEVERAL years ago. (Tissue please!) I don't have any fab that will kinda work. So spent a couple hours today taking all the sashing off the blocks. Now have to press them, grab fabric for NEW sashing to get this one done.
I am determined to get this quilt done and out the door.

Good for you Julenm1. These UFO often throw us a curve ball like you experience but you are succeeding!
My February quilt has not left my sewing room..
I contacted COVID falling ill a week ago and have been locked away from folks for a week. I did get some work done on my AQS quilt and will hopefully wander these two pieces to be long armed early next week. Still possible February finishes. Fingers crossed.

Hi All!
Snooze2978 - those are truly gorgeous quilts!
WMUTeach - I've been enjoying the Olympics too - I've found multiple 'new to me but interesting to watch' sports over the past couple of weeks! I hope you are well on the road to recovery - being ill is no fun at all.
Quossum - I hope your BIL is recovering well. It sounds as though you managed to make good use of your unexpected time away.
Julienm1 - Grr, annoying when you have to pivot so much, but I'm sure the end result will be worth it
As for me, I have made some progress:
Harvest Gatherings - now has top and backing all ready to go to the longarmer (I'm waiting to send several at the same time, since I know that I have a few juuuust about ready to go, so it is now piled with my Cream and Green Sampler waiting for dispatch)
Sylvia's Bridal Sampler - remaining borders are cut and prepped, just need to be sewn on
Happy Quilting!

I made myself clear off my cutting table before sewing. I quilt when it was 90% cleared. Gave up trying to figure out where stuff came from OR where it should go.
As a reward I grabbed the skateboard project. I'm staggering the columns. Gives layout more interest. Should be able to glue baste it today and after glue dries mark it for quilting. Another quilt for another kid.
UFO container is getting smaller, but I haven't attacked the KIT container yet. That bin is scary, too! LOL

Panchita, the Sylvia's Bridal Quilt is on my "some day" list. I have the book. Now I need the motivation to get it started. Farmer's Wife must be finished first. It is on my list of 2026 UFOs.
I am looking forward to seeing you finished SBQ.
