    As a not so small active person, another source for plus size swim wear is www.junonia.com This company does some great stuff that is modest but most importantly one can actually move in. The biggest down side is the price, but they do have sales/on-line coupons.

    I also agree that Lands End is wonderful as well. If you have questions about fit, there staff at their 1-800 does know there stuff.

    Good luck to all on the quest to find the perfect swimsuit.

    Several people in my water aerobics class buy at Land's End. While some of my less expensive suits have faded within a month's time, the Lands End suits don't fade. Everyone says that they also don't stretchl and to order one to two sizes larger (adding insult to injury!).

    I have a couple of suits sz.24 and I am very comfortable. That is my num ber 1 need. I have bought a few big shirts in pretty colors I toss on when not actually in the water. Don't let size keep you from enjoying yourself. Life is to enjoy.

    [quote=MadQuilter]Hi ladies,

    I find myself in the dismal position of having to buy a swimsuit (or well-covering 2-piece/tankini). As a plus-size girl I am totally overwhelmed with the choices and the prices. My biggest fear is that I might show up and clear the beach because the patrons are so frightened by the sight.

    I hate swimsuit shopping too. Being in FL where a swimsuit is considered a part of everyday wear most of the year, I have begun buying mine only at Land's End or on occasion, L.L.Bean. This is what I do. Wait for the season's end sale, order whatever looks like it might work for me. Maybe three suits. When they arrive I try them on ALONE in my bedroom with the full length mirror and all the lights on. Then I select one and send the rest back. If it's one of those times when they give you free shopping it's a bonus. By the way, you can return any Land's End things to the Sears store. No shipping charges then. It still doesn't change the fact that we are no longer exactly swimsuit models, but it beats the agony of mall shopping. 8-)
