My Quilt Studio "under" the rafters.

I am so jealous....I have almost an identical space that is unfinished and it has been my DREAM for years to finish it out like that. Unfortunately, now that property values have dropped so much, I dont have the cash to do it.

Wow! How nice. If I had a place like that in my house, I'd go in and never come out. I know it's heavenly to have that space for yourself, especially after living in a mobile home. We used to live in a mobile home, and even though I enjoyed living there, I was happy when we moved to a house.

Could you get something like an old school chalkboard that is portable and make this into your design wall? You may have to rearrage furniture. Some school buildings that have damage to the chalk board may sell it to you at a good price. Ask the School board. It may be easy to make if your DH is handy.

They all passed away but their items have a special place up there with me. One of the things I strugle with are lack of display wall and that the storage is all under the roof part behind the little doors. As my body begins to get older I am strugling with laying the quilt out on the floor and bending or crawling into the storage areas. I welcome any creative suggestions.

Lovely area. My suggestions for you would be (if it fits) to put the couch against the window under the sloping ceiling, with the other easy chairs facing into that area. The table could then come out to the space opposite your sink and food prep area. Have storage units on wheels - even if they could fit inside the cupboards you speak of, and be wheeled out. Cork floor tiles mounted onto a hinged board could work for display area. I had one that looked like a picture on the wall when I was not using it, and it flipped down to transform into a display board when I needed the design wall. My father made it for me.
