For the focus fabric, it says 1/3 yard, but it only needs two pieces, 8 1/2 x 10 1/2, does anyone think i can use a fat quarter for the focus, and a fat quarter for the background, or will they be too small?
PS I know, i have lots of questions. Can the focus fabric have words on it, like a poem, or will it be getting cut into small pieces like a quilt block, or will that piece of fabric be staying whole? sorry, smack me lol :) I've never done a mystery, so you can see it has me mystified lol

Hi Barb,
I can answer that for you. The focus fabric will stay in one large piece. It is just one piece that you need that is 8 1/2" by 10 1/2" and it can be anything you want. Because the piece stays big(vs getting cut up into little pieces) you can use larger prints or novelty prints for this part.
So a Fat quarter would be plenty big enough for the focus and you could also use one for the background fabric( I just cut one out to make sure lol)
Also, I'll be posting the steps on Friday's and I haven't quite figured out how many weeks we'll need yet lol...but not too many maybe 3 or 4?
