Julie, gorgeous fabric. Personally, I would go with the lighter blue.

I like the lighter blue, Julie; it is so pretty and it has better contrast. Lovely fabrics!

Theresa, too funny how you saw our MQ in those

I'm still chugging away at my geese. That are all turning out perfect size, so that's a plus. I've barely been able to fit any sewing in this week, thanks to my sweet little daughters. I'm still staying positive that they will be done by Friday.

Everyone's geese are looking so great! I'm loving all the pics!

Those are beautiful fabrics, Julie. I also prefer the deep rich blue on the right, and it still has enough contrast with the navy blue to work. What it boils down to is, which blue do you prefer with your orange?

1st Clue finished! Set the guide for an appropriate seam allowance.. then lots of cutting, sewing, ripping, re-sewing, re-cutting, ironing, trimming - all to get 50 perfect 3 1/2" unfinished pieces. Now on to my gaggle of geese!

Julie, you could use both to put more interest in your quilt. I like all your colors.

I've finished all of the nine patches and the geese. Not sure if this mystery thing is good for me. I have set aside all my holiday projects to do this instead. Don't want to get behind! Today, back to the things that must get done!

Julie, when I didn't look closely at your original post, I failed to see the dark navy and I was absolutely in thrall with the darker blue. Now I understand those who preferred the lighter blue, but I agree with Sewbizgirl that the dark can work even against the navy. SandraP has a great solution in suggesting that, instead of just 4 colors, you use both the blues. That way you're using two neat fabrics, some of which will go magnificently with the orange and the other which will offer more contrast with the navy.
