I've gone through so many seam rippers I've lost count. LOL!! Those "mistakes" make it special and show it's done by someone's hands....not mass produced by a machine.

When i first began quilting (%$%^^&%^years ago) I was taught to deliberately make a mistake. You were to do this because the only perfect thing was God Himself. Of course I never had to do it deliberately....mistakes just come natural to me!

I agree. I make enough mistakes without making one purposely.

I have never done it on purpose, but sometimes it happens. I just leave it and say 'that's my trademark" or 'ah meant to do that'

I, too, have made a block wrong and not notice it until I was quiting it. But that is OK. No quilt police around me.

To intentionally set a block in wrong would be a "false humility block," in my opinion, because what it says is that I have to set out to do something imperfectly because I'm so good that I will otherwise make something that's perfect. :shock:

Don't worry about the imperfections. Do whatever you do with a cheerful heart and your best effort and God will make it beautiful. :)

I don't have to "intentionally" make mistakes, they take care of themselves. I try to remember to enjoy the process and remember the love that is going into the quilt. I know that I'm not perfect (and the older I get, the "less perfect" I become). Failing eyesight and arthritis has a lot to do with it, as does priorities. But I must admit, it took many years to learn these lessons.
