Hate Christmas Fabrics?? Look again...
#81
Thanks again you'all. I have a girlfriend who always says "I wonder how many quilts you could make with all your fabric ?" It makes me feel a little bit like a hoarder and I'm sure she thinks so. But, hey it's all in one room ! After looking at some of you guys stashes, I feel quite at home with my stash. So...I have enough quilts that I haven't finished and this pattern allowed me to finish without stress. Who knows..I may take all my fabrics and do simple quilts like this. Seems to be the trend and I might actually finish them...all the way finished, you know what I mean !! I kept the quilting simple and even used the wavy stitch on my machine and used flashy thread to catch the eye. No need for loads of quilting with Warm & White, it's like a blanket in itself, and it kind of clings to the fabric making it easier, just pined it a bit.

Thanks so much. Yes, this is a big help. I am ready to tackle some of the Christmas fabric. I just did the google search and found the PDF you mentioned. If anyone is wanting to see, here is the link:

Carol, Thanks for asking. Here aRE my notes. cut 5 strips at 6 1/2 inches by width of fabric , cut 10 strips at 4 inches by width of fabric and 10 strips at 2 1/2 inches by width of fabric. These are the three fabrics the pattern calls for. Measured roughly 50 X 70 . You can find this pattern by searching on Google quick donation quilt, it's by the st croix quilters. I did not quilt as you go and I used warm & white batting. Hope this helps you.

Thank you Carol. They are lots of fun to make, glad you found the link. I know that some people don't care for Christmas fabric because the season is short, but as long as I use the fabric to make them...the recipients have to figure out what to do with them after Christmas. I'm betting they don't put them up for a while. Can't wait to make some out of other fabric choices. My neighbor just came down and gave me 2 big hugs for her quilt, Love it !!
