This was a wonderful article. I can remember Everett teaching at the local community college. It is wonderful that his wife and daughters saved all the old clothing for him to recycle. I wish now that I had gotten some of my mom's things to recycle into a quilt, but the family hauled everything to Goodwill before I got back out to Nebraska. I did get the old quilt that she had. Mom had traded goose feathers for a pieced grandma's garden quilt top made with original 30's and 40's fabric. My dad had it quilted for her birthday one year. Wouldn't you know it, she discovered the quilt top missing right before her birthday. Even though it is worn in some spots, it is still one of my most prized treasures.
