I bought 2 packs of Moda's 30s Playtime charms plus two solid fabrics and half yard pieces of two of the patterned fabrics. I want to make a simple bed runner or lap quilt--nothing too elaborate (not a lot of applique
).
I was thinking of alternating patches of solids with the charms, or making half square triangles with solids and charms and playing with the layout of those. I want it to look old time-y for a friend who is into flea market shopping.
I'm looking for inspiration photos or ideas. This will be a Christmas gift, so I have time to think about it. Thanks for your suggestions.

I am going to use up some 30's fabric with this pattern from M*QC: http://quiltingtutorials.com/product...quilting-tool/. I think it will work great with 30's fabric, and you can use the tool with your charm packs.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll Google them and watch the tutorials at MSQs. I was also thinking i could cut the charms into quarters for nine patches and/or for an Irish chain.

These Moda charm packs were my first charms purchase. I like that I got so many different fabrics in the charm packs without having to buy them all separately. But I think the pre-cut size limits the blocks that can be made with them. And I didn't have a specific block in mind when I bought them. Makes it hard to decide what to do!
