    Default what is the difference between these 2 feet?
    They both look the same to me except one is much longer. Can anyone tell me why?

    I can't say why, but I can say the one with the longer toes will walk up and over humps and seams easier and better than the shorter one. I always switch to a longer toed foot when I'm using my 60s and 70s Singers.

    I'd guess it's age more than anything. The newer machines probably needed all the help they can get LOL!

    Actually, often it was a result of changing fashion and fabric popularity. The older design just didn't work as well with the new methods/materials.

    I don't think those long toes are all that common. I do have one and I love it for sewing heavy stuff.

    I found it going through my spare slant shank feet for the new Rocketeer. I think I'll keep both the shorter ad the longer toes in his box and experiment with both once I get him up and running.

    You guys have such a huge collective knowledge base! I can always find an answer here.
