Default What is your favorite part of making a quilt?

For me it is the binding! I love that the quilt is almost done and I love the hand sewing of the binding!

Since I started longarming my favorite part is the quilting. Second favorite is picking out the fabrics.

the binding? That is the only part of making a quilt I don't like - I love picking out the pattern and fabric, I love cutting and sewing, I even enjoy ironing. I love quilting (also have a long arm) but I just don't care for binding.

What may seem strange, but I think my favorite part is cutting the fabric.

My favorite part is deciding what quilt to make next. That really is the most fun for me.

Fabric shopping and having lunch out with a quilting buddy! Seriously though, love playing with color.

I like all parts. I'm weakest at picking out a quilting design but once I do I enjoy it. I don't mind the bindings - I usually hand sew to the back. I don't have any hand or wrist issues and I find it relaxing. Since I quilt mostly for my own pleasure I'm never in a rush to finish anything.

I also love to bind, I also enjoy piecing when the house is clean I feel stressed picking out fabrics and it takes me a long time to audition colors...

What I don't enjoy is finishing a quilt and placing it in a pillowcase in the closet...I wish I could display them..Maybe I will!

I'm with you, Mamaw322. I really enjoy the binding part. The quilting is the worst part for me. I hate it.
