    Default Finished - Bichon quilt

I am very pleased with this one. I designed it myself for a special breeder from whom we have gotten most of our Bichon Frises. We have been the retirement home for 6 of his dogs. We only have one left and she is 12-13 so getting up there too. I always wanted to make him a quilt but didn't think my skills were adequate. As I have gotten better, I was ready to try it. I surfed the net for photos of Bichons that showed a nice Bichon profile. DL'ed them, traced the outline, used projector to increase to size I needed. Made my applique patterns from that. Each block is different. My favorite is the "Nothin' Butt Bichons." I emailed and asked permission from the company who does all the "Nothin' Butt" items and they graciously said yes.

First photo is the whole quilt. Next post will be individual blocks. Thanks for looking.

I have a feeling the breeder will be overwhelmed to receive this very special quilt. Love your little FMQ Bichons in the border. The one where the fabric has just a tiny bit of pink leaves on the paw reminds me of the picture that has made the internet/email rounds of the little white dog and the caption says "lipstick, what lipstick, I didn't see any lipstick" The picture is obvious the little dog ate the lipstick.
