Default T-shirt, Panel or Hybrid quilt?

When I was making a T-shirt quilt for my BIL earlier this year, during the tedious part of fusing the t-shirts to the stabilizer, I included this one shirt that my DH was getting rid of and set it aside. Now you have to understand my DH doesn't part with old stuff easily; I was actually surprised that he wanted to get rid of this particular t-shirt, since it really is a cool shirt. He doesn't like big pictures on the front of a shirt...it's OK it the big picture is on the BACK, and this shirt the picture was on the front... so he just wasn't going to wear it. It's kind of a running joke with us when I am making quilts and I get to the border part, he always thinks I should put on more borders. You know, just keep making the quilt bigger by adding borders, and I of course don't. Anyway, I decided to make a "border" quilt around this one t-shirt and this is the result. He was so surprised! I put fleece on the back, so the quilt is soft, nothing fancy. Thanks for looking :-)

Great! You managed to choose fabrics that all come from the shirt design... very cool. That backing is perfect for the Grateful Dead era too. I'm sure hubby loves it.
