Default Rag Bag Batting and Thread

I am making a quilted rag bag. What is the best batting and thread to use to make it durable. Also, is there some type of product I can use to keep the bottom stiff.

Peltex would make the bottom nice and stiff. Most people that I know just use an 80/20 batting for rag quilts or bags.

However, you could probably use Bosal foam for the whole thing. The double fusible kind would make it so the layers wouldn't slip while you sew!

As mentioned, Peltex is good for stiffening the bottom.

Decovil Light is good for giving body to a bag, although it's expensive (at least in Canada), and I don't know how big this bag is. Otherwise, perhaps fusible fleece? I've never used the Bosal so can't comment.
