Default ISO free jelly roll pattern

I was gifted jelly roll of 38 strips yellow and black various designs. Oh, and bright yellow. Nothing on the internet or in my pattern stash floats my boat. (I think it's because I hate yellow...lol) All ideas greatly appreciated.

Perhaps replace those bright yellow strips with something more to your taste? Just because it was gifted that way, doesn’t mean you have to use them. 😊

Fat Quarter Shop has several jelly roll patterns and lots of them are free.
Just type 'free jelly roll pattern' in your search.

About the patterns ... let google be your friend!
There are so many possibilities out there.

As for the yellow ......... if you don't like the colour, maybe just set the jelly roll set aside and don't use it at all.

Or as already suggested you can always substitute. But I'm guessing there may be too many yellows in there to substitute. Then, just set the whole thing aside.

Life is too short to work with something you do not like ... and will not enjoy the process, as a result!

I'm not fussed on bright yellow either, but I think if you add some neutral strips it could be a lovely quilt, gift it to someone who loves it.
The Potato Chip quilt comes to mind, cutting all your strips into 4.5" lengths. Here is a video -

What about adding some blues to the yellow?

Donna Jordan has some free patterns on her website, also the tutorial to go with it. I made one of them

Think about the Jelly Roll Sizzle. It's an easy pattern but looks really complicated when done. I found the pattern free at the Fat Quarter shop.

Would it work to add a bright green or even red ?

Yellow is not my favorite color, either! However, I do like the Sunshine on a Cloudy Day quilt that was a request.
One was requested from another dear friend at the Christmas party the other night. It was not that difficult. I watched a YT video that helped.
