Welcome to a special edition of VQW. Thought some of you might want to kick off 2026 in your quilting room. I will be organizing mine and planning out projects to work on. What are your plans for the day?

We have plans for a NY Day hike at a nearby State Park. After that I'll be working on putting together I top i started several years ago with no plan in mind. I came up with a plan and now am feverishly working on getting the top together.
Happy New Year to All! May it be a good year for us all.

I have my Monet's Wedding Ring throw loaded on the longarm. I am hoping to get it quilted this afternoon. It is very cold here -19 degrees C. (which Mr. Google tells me is about -2 degrees F.) and I will be quite happy to hunker down in my sewing room!
Thanks for hosting Raggiemom. When you're tired of organizing your sewing room, I wouldn't mind if you came over and worked on mine for a while!

I've got a quilt loaded on the longarm (one of mine, for a change!) and I've been cutting pieces for a quick baby quilt. I'm actually planning on using the embroidery machine to applique some wild and crazy fish!

Thank you for hosting.
I will be joining the Virtual Quilting Weekend on New Year's Day! I sandwiched and quilted the Nativity Scene pixel for my dining table, and I am so excited to bind it today! I started it at the beginning of November, but my brother hospitalization, and he is way more important to me. His foot infection is mostly healed! He takes his diabetes seriously now!
Also, I found an old cross stitch of Pluto (the Disney dog) to use as a practice for applying vinyl and making a tote.

Well how nice and a surprise to me for the New Years edition, but then I don't keep track. Thanks, Heather, for keeping track all year round.
It is Bonnie Hunter time for me, I have been behind because I went to visit my friend in Arizona for a week but it looks likes I'll be caught up by tomorrow (the next clue) if I get myself sewing today... other than that we have no plans but maybe will take the dogs out for a walk mid-afternoon when the temps are closer to freezing than zero.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope it was fun and safe.
Yesterday was run errands and spend time with hubby day. Today is monitor and print out the clues for 3 QAL’s I will be following. In the mean time I will do fabric select and wash and iron fabrics for these QAL’s. After that I will start cutting out as manny clues for BHMQ 2025-26. And finally continue to sew on my cotton cuts five-0 #2.
