Well, I decided to take Dunsters, maybe I got her name wrong, but anyway, she mentioned she stitched in the ditch on her quilts so I decided to try my hand at it on this next quilt I'm working on and sure enough it's not quite as hard as I suspected. True, I'm not a master at it and I do get out of line occasionally or more than occasionally but I find going a bit faster instead of slower works better.
I'm also trying new options on my IQ robotic system too. I was trying to stitch out a crosshatch pattern across the quilt and found it started shifting to the left so out of bounds to my block so I stopped, ripped out the stitches that are way out of bounds and decided to try using "line". I checked to see how far apart the pattern was makings its lines and I copied it using "line". This way i can control where the stitching goes instead of a pattern. True, it's more time consuming but I'm getting there so there's 2 things I'm trying this year with my quilting. Oh yes, I also tried "trace" around my leaf motif block and though I have to retry occasionally, I'm liking that too. So this quilt will have a couple new ideas going for it.
Just wanted to tell you how excited I am with trying new things.
