Self-taught, been at it for about 1 1/2 yrs. Books are my best friends for learning. Did I start with little things, easy things? Nah, jumped right in to a king-sized bed spread! That took about a year, but I did one for my grandson and have several tops that now need quilting.

I use an old Pfaff 1196 machine that doesn't even take a walking foot! Its a great old machine with a wide throat so I can quilt even kings and queen's like my old fashioned style quilt for my brass bed.

Luckily I'm retired and single so my kitchen has a whole quilting set-up and I look out on our horses in the pastures.

Thanks! That picture is awesome! I see many hawks and eagles out my window, but nothing like that!

About 14 miles north of Vancouver! Your dogs are wonderful! My daughter's "Garth" is a dobie, too. He's terrified of my chickens! Thanks for the greeting!
