I am looking as to where to buy 100% cotton canvas to make the top of your own ironing board. Is there any that is extra wide like 60 versus 44 inches wide?

I got DH willing and ready to make me one but I need to find the 100% cotton canvas still.

I use a double layer of muslin and it works just fine. Cheap and easy to replace when needed.

Most fabric stores carry canvas especially in the summer. Maybe they still have some.

I would say anything 100% cotton and 'sturdy' would work.

100% Duck canvas is what I used. fabric.com has it. After stretching the canvas around a board, spray it with water and as it dries it shrinks to fit the board.

What Bellaboo said. It is 100% cotton Duck canvas,. JoAnes carries it back near the drapery/upholstery section. It comes in many different colors, just be sure it is 100% cotton.

I buy the canvas at Joann's but I find that I like the silver stuff (I don't know what it's called)it's that heat resistant fabric. I put new layers of batting underneath and then make the top out of the silver stuff, works great.
