I have heard that most people use only 20% of their sewing machine 80% of the time and got to thinking about it today. I have to say that I fall into that catagory myself. I was wondering if anyone has any photos of how they have used the other "80% of stitches" that are on their machines.

My Juki TL98QE machines are straight stitch only machines, so, I use 100% of my machines whenever I sew.

I have a very basic machine with just straight and various zig-zag stitches. I've used all of them at one point or another, but in quilting, specifically, I pretty much only use straight stitches (longer or shorter based on what I'm working on).

I recently ordered a new machine with several decorative stitches. Once I get using that, I can almost guarantee that I'll be doing just that - using 20%, 80% of the time. LOL I'm looking forward to trying them all out though, and hope to use some of them when quilting.

I use 1% of it about 99% of the time. I have narrowed my use to piecing only. I used to use it for more things when I sewed clothes for my kids.

But I love my machine for that 1% - it's perfect!
