I have signed up for a quilting class which I am looking forward to beginning next Monday. However, one of the items on the supply list is a 18" x 24" cutting mat. My question is: Is there an easy way to transport the large mat? I have one but it will certainly not be easy to take with me.

I made a large tote bag for mine, with a pocket on the outside, I teach sewing workshops and it makes it real handy to carry along...

I've used a large canvas tote or I have a padded pressing surface that size (June Tailor) and have "glued" a cutting mat to the back side with double-faced carpet tape. The ironing pad has a canvas handle so I can carry both at once.

I have a large tote that actually fits my 24 x 36 mat.

Just make sure however you transport it, that it remains perfectly flat, and it does not get hot

FYI Just REMEMBER DON"T leave it in your car when you go home.
It WILL warp in the heat.
