Looks like someone took a light saber to it! But anything can be fixed with a little of "the Force" backing them. A little wax on and wax off might help too!

you could take the irons and just make a flat table for it. I hope the machine salvageable!

Oh, how sad people don't see the value in old things. I'm glad you are giving her a new home and hope the machine can be salvaged. Please post pictures of your progress.

Years ago I found a treadle in similar condition at a junk car dealer's lot.

I brought her home and just saved the bottom part. I sanded and wired brushed the entire metal, spray painted it white and put a table top onto it for a kitchen table. It was so cute and I received many comments on it over the years. The table top has been gone for a long time, but I still have the base in my garage with my gardening supplies on it.

I dont think the wood portions can be saved, but the iron part of the cabinet can be de-rusted and painted and have someone make a top and you will end up with a nice table...

I agree that the wood portion is trashed...it's just too far gone. What you can do tho, is either find a cabinet maker to remake the cabinet, or simply find a nice piece of wood to put there...cutting a "hole" to fit the base of the machine. Very few machines are beyond hope... :)

You have your work cut out for you...but I'm betting you turn this "weed" into a beautiful rose!!
