Is the Eliso the one with little "feet" that come out? If so, they stick---sometimes in sometimes out but they stick. I have a $9 iron that I picked up at Dollar General and I love it.

I must be the only person on here with a Panasonic iron that has never given me any trouble! I also have a cordless Panasonic and it works like a charm. A couple of friends have the Maytag cordless irons and they have problems with them spitting too! I use plain tap water and have not had any problems in three years with either iron.

I have the "Classic" by Black & Decker. It has been around for years. I do not have any problems with it. It is also heavy enough that I don't have to put any muscle behind getting those wrinkles out! It is black, and costs about $30.00.

Most of the time I use an old GE travel iron, also use the spray bottle if I want steam.
The other iron is a Panasonic, it stays on for an hour. It only spits if I don't let it heat up enough before using steam. I do have lots of lime in the water here, so about every month I run vinegar through it or it leaves brown stains on my fabric that won't come out.

i have a rowenta steam generating system - where the water tank sits on a table and you have to press the trigger to get steam that runs from the tank & iron. cost $350 but i love it and have had it for 9-10 years b/c i was tired of irons that spit.

I purchased the Eurosteam Iron at the AQS Show in Des Moines, Iowa back in 2008 - LOVE IT! No complaints so far!

It has a separate chamber to heat the water for steam, so there is no spitting water. The automatic shutoff can be deactivated, so you have constant heat when you want it.

my favorite iron which has been used non stop, daily for over 3 years now is a $12 black and decker i bought at walmart. the $139 fancy stupid iron i bought lasted about 3 months. my $12 iron stays hot, does not shut off on me...and works great!
AND, I NEVER EVER PUT WATER IN MY IRON! I KEEP A SPRAY BOTTLE ON MY IRONING BOARD AND SPRITZ MY FABRIC WHEN I WANT STEAM.
one iron tells you to use distilled water..the next one tells you to use tap water, the next one this then that...but it seems like they all start spitting, sputtering not reliable at all ... my spray bottle is always reliable!
