He's a beauty! Spiders make the most beautiful webs, I love it when the dew is on them they sparkle and show off the detail. When my kids were little we would find ants to throw in the webs, really neat to watch them spin a cacoon of webbing around the next meal. Oh I almost forgot your quilt, its a beauty too, and so is your niece!

We've sort of adopted a writing spider this summer. She's woven a web in my hydrangea bush, complete with the Z's that a writing spider is known for. We call her Charlotte, after the spider in Charlotte's Web, who was also a writing spider.
Our Charlotte has 3 egg sacks. I'm going to ask one of our State Park naturalists if he'd like the egg sacks. As much as I have enjoyed watching Charlotte, I really don't want her tiny children finding a way into my house :-) !
