I have made 2 bags so far, and have the 3rd cut out. The actual link for the pattern is:

    http://thecreativethimble.com/

    These are addictive! :-)

I found a pattern called "Evergreen Business Tote" on e-PatternsCentral.com that looks very much like this bag. It's a downloadable pattern and only cost me $3.95. I haven't made it yet.

I also made one. It took me a few days to get the pattern-$12+ shipping from Creative thimble. 3 weeks of studying the pattern 3 weeks to quit shaking in fright. About 4 hrs to cut it 7-9 hrs to sew it 22 hrs to admire it and sent it to my DD for approval to see if DGD would like one for graduation next spring and if yes, what color. YES YES YES. It will be a labor of love, all black please, well worth it all. Can they be sold without permission? How could anyone make and sell them for only $60? The stuff to make them is almost that much!

It's also in the October 2010 Quilter's World magazine.

I have made 3 of the bags, a few years back. It took a while to cut and put the bag together. You do need to label the pieces so you want get lost. However, once completed, it is a great bag.

I'm taking a class next week on a bag..not this one, though. Mine is a bit smaller, 2 zippers, inside and outside pockets. The class and pattern were each $10 and the materials with fusible stuff, zippers, and thread were $40! I've never paid this much for a finished bag!!! Sure hope I'm capable of making one! (Never taken a sewing class before, either!!)

They would be expensive to buy already made if you are going to get paid for your time at a decent rate of pay - $10-$15/hour - then the cost of the materials - $25 or so. At least $125...don't know too many people willing to pay that for a tote bag, and anything less would not be worth the maker's time.

I agree, though, it is a really cool tote!

Remember to check off the steps in PENCIL so you can erase and reuse the pattern.

Have never made a tote but I noticed that beautiful cathedral quilt you made. Was it difficult? I'm not sure it's called "cathedral" but it's what I call them. I have a great book with many variations to do, but haven't attempted yet. I've been making quilt tops about 1 1/2 yrs, but haven't attempted doing the quilting -- I'm like the other lady that is SCARED! I'm currently doing a braid quilt -- goes together fast and is similar to your quilt but no center square. By the way, this is my first post - ever!!!! -sts202

I think Clotide has them, and since totes and bags are so big now, I bet almost everyone has them.
