OK, now you done it!!! After seeing this beauty I'm off to make my own!! I love the colors. I made mine out of scrap 6" squares. I'll finish that and get serious making new ones with prettier fabric. Great Job!!
HA! Don't you just love how kids do a "fake" sleep! Ha! Adorable!

Look up dimensional Bow Tie block and faux Cathedral Window, these are basically the same block with different sized squares. I've made the Bow tie with 2.5", 3.5" and 5" squares. Just tried the CW with 3.5" and 6.5" block last night. Super easy.

I would say try a sample block for 6 or 9 inches. In quilting, the skies the limit. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. :o)

I am actually working on a quilt using 2 sizes - the smaller is made with 5" squares, the larger has 9.5" squares. The first few are a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it you can get through them pretty quick. I am getting ready to start a baby quilt for our next little one and am going to turn it into a taggie blanket of sorts - where the openings are I am going to insert pieces of ribbon, then sew them down and quilt the center to reinforce it. In my head it sounds neat, we'll see what the finished product looks like! I have the fabric out on the table now, but have told myself I need to quilt DH's aunt's tablerunner (Christmas gift) first!

Just a quick layout to see if I liked it or not. I have more fabrics to incorporate (a bit of a scrappy quilt) but haven't cut them up yet.
