Yes the squares were 2 1/2 ", it made a really big block, I guess I could break them down to my 6 1/2 sqares because I really like what you said. Thanks ladies, you all have such good ideas.

Here is a top I just finished using 16 patch blocks (8" finished) If you are interested I will give you measurement for making the other blocks. Patricia

Oh I really like yours-My problem is that I sewed 4 units of 9 patches together so they are REALLY bit. I probably will just take them apart so I can get some kind of pattern out of it. Thanks for your reply, Carolyn
